Our Impact

ISMP Canada purposely partners with patients and caregivers, health care providers, regulators and others to improve medication safety.

Collaboration

The Canadian Alliance for Patient Safety

The Canadian Alliance for Patient Safety (the Alliance) is a pan-Canadian group of people and health care organizations who work together to make care safer and ISMP Canada is proud to co-lead this group alongside Patients for Patient Safety Canada. These dedicated members meet to share information, data, programs and resources with each other which provides an opportunity to share the information more widely across the country.

Canadian Medication Safety Network

At ISMP Canada, we believe that medication safety is a collective responsibility. Our Network is designed to bring together healthcare providers and consumers from all corners of the country to enable sharing and learning for the meaningful advancement of medication safety. By fostering open communication and collaboration, this network aims to achieve the following objectives with you: community-building, two-way dialogue and access to resources.

Your Report Makes a Difference

Every year, thousands of Canadians are impacted by medication incidents—ranging from incorrect dosages to mix-ups in prescriptions. These are not just statistics; they represent real people, families, and communities facing preventable challenges. Through the efforts of MedError.ca, supported by ISMP Canada, real changes have been made to enhance medication safety across the country.

When you report a medication error, you’re contributing to a national mission to protect and empower every individual who relies on medications. It only takes one report to spark change.
